EHS Manager

About the role

Winthrop Technologies is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join a major data‑centre construction project. Reporting to the EHS Lead, you will ensure that all works comply with the company’s Safety Management System, statutory legislation and best‑practice standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project compliance with Winthrop’s Safety Management System and relevant legislation.
• Develop, maintain and update Construction Stage Health & Safety Plans.
• Prepare and analyse health & safety performance reports for senior management.
• Support the creation of method statements, risk assessments, Safe Plans of Action and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and ensure corrective actions are closed.
• Manage COSHH assessments and ensure effective control measures.
• Coordinate EHS inductions and training programmes for all site personnel.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with EHS policies and maintain accurate statutory records.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing EHS on large‑scale construction projects (data‑centre experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Irish and EU health & safety legislation.
• Proven ability to lead EHS aspects of complex construction sites.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational abilities.
• Flexible approach to changing project priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with EHS reporting systems.
