Electrical Engineer (Data Centre Projects)

About the role

Winthrop Technologies is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical systems on a large‑scale data centre project. You will work closely with subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure quality, safety, and programme requirements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Execute all works in compliance with the Winthrop Integrated Management System.
• Review, coordinate and manage project drawings as required.
• Provide technical guidance and support to subcontractors throughout all project stages.
• Plan, prioritise and allocate tasks within the technical team to meet deadlines.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with site, project and health & safety requirements.
• Apply troubleshooting techniques to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee document control processes, ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date logs.
• Prepare handover and test packs for system commissioning.
• Drive compliance and governance, enforce health & safety standards and promote safe working practices.
• Complete and submit weekly “Don’t Walk By” safety observation cards.

Required profile

• Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer on large‑scale projects, preferably data centres, pharmaceutical or industrial facilities.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems in design‑and‑build environments.
• Knowledge of health & safety standards and construction regulations.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills in a fast‑paced environment.
