Engineer Reliability, Operational Readiness

About the role

The Engineer Reliability, Operational Readiness will act as the bridge between project delivery and day‑one operations at Newmont’s Lihir gold mine. Working on a two‑year fixed‑term contract, you will ensure that major capital projects are handed over smoothly and are ready for immediate production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate operational readiness activities across multiple projects.
• Facilitate workshops, meetings and stakeholder sessions to align project and operational requirements.
• Develop, maintain and update operational readiness plans, frameworks, processes and documentation.
• Collaborate with project engineers, operations teams and external partners to verify that projects meet operational criteria.
• Support the transition from project execution to full‑scale operations, ensuring readiness from day one.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating operational readiness or project hand‑over activities, preferably in a mining or industrial environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead cross‑functional workshops.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities to produce clear readiness plans.
• Ability to work onsite at Lihir and adapt to remote‑area conditions.
