Engineering Senior Specialist

About the role

The Engineering Senior Specialist will join the Engineering Centre of Excellence at our Dublin biotech site, leading safety, contractor, emergency response, financial and digital reliability programmes. This senior leadership position drives process safety, high‑risk work governance and cross‑functional performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process safety across the asset lifecycle, including hazard assessments, management of change and incident learning.
• Govern the site Emergency Response Team, coordinating training, drills and response plans.
• Define contractor safety and quality controls, monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide oversight for high‑risk work, ensuring robust planning, permits‑to‑work and execution.
• Manage engineering budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and investment prioritisation.
• Define and lead digital reliability programmes, deploying condition monitoring and analytics.
• Coach and develop direct reports, translate strategy into measurable plans and represent the CoE in governance forums.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in regulated or high‑hazard environments, with strong knowledge of process safety and engineering governance.
• Proven ability to lead teams and deliver cross‑functional programmes with measurable business impact.
• Experience in budget ownership, forecasting, cost control and senior‑level financial reporting.
• Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen and stakeholder‑management skills.
