Event Ambassador – Fort Fright (Seasonal)

About the role

The Fort Fright Event Ambassador is the welcoming face of the fall attraction at Fort Henry National Historic Site. Working on‑site, you will greet visitors, share key event information, and help create a safe, enjoyable experience for all guests.

Key responsibilities

• Greet, orient and direct visitors as they enter the Fort Fright attraction.
• Communicate health‑ and safety reminders and answer visitor questions.
• Assist with ticket‑holder congestion and provide clear way‑finding support.
• Monitor your assigned zone for hazards, report potential issues, and maintain a safe environment.
• Listen to visitor feedback and escalate concerns when necessary.

Required profile

• Knowledge of customer‑service techniques and tourism’s economic impact.
• Experience in crowd control and ability to work outdoors in varied weather.
• Strong verbal communication skills, able to speak clearly in an outdoor setting.
• Outgoing, friendly personality with a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
• Ability to work variable schedules, including weekends, evenings and holidays.

Required skills

• Ability to learn and follow safety protocols and procedures.
• Capacity to memorize event information and health‑safety regulations.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform crowd‑control duties.
