Event Staff for Cannonball Crush Obstacle Race

About the role

Join the team at Fort Henry National Historic Site to support the one‑day Cannonball Crush obstacle race. You will greet participants, provide safety information and ensure a smooth, enjoyable experience for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and orient guests, delivering key event details and safety reminders.
• Assist with registration flow and guide racers to start points, checkpoints, obstacles and water stations.
• Monitor assigned zones for hazards, report issues and maintain a safe environment.
• Follow instructions from the event lead and communicate any guest concerns to the appropriate staff.

Required profile

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and for long hours during a single‑day event.
• Strong verbal communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion principles.

Required skills

• Knowledge of basic safety protocols and ability to follow them.
• Ability to memorize event information and convey it clearly.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $17.60 (CAD) for up to 36.25 hours per week.
• Experience working in a historic site and a large public event.
