Experienced Food & Beverage Assistant (Full & Part‑Time)

About the role

The Johnstown Estate is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Assistant to join our team on both full‑time and part‑time schedules. You will play a key part in delivering polished, personalized service across all dining outlets, ensuring every guest enjoys a warm and authentic experience.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, serve, and clear tables in the restaurant, bar, banqueting and room‑service areas while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menus, wine pairings and special dietary requirements.
• Process orders and payments accurately using the property’s POS system.
• Assist senior staff with shift coordination, stock control, inventory management and restocking of supplies.
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely and efficient service.
• Handle guest requests and feedback promptly, aiming to exceed expectations.
• Support training and mentoring of new team members as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 1‑2 years of experience in a similar F&B role within a 4‑star or luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with excellent communication skills.
• Professional appearance, positive attitude and flexibility to work shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems quickly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems.
• Inventory management and stock‑control experience.
