Financial Controller – 3‑4 Day Week

About the role

This hands‑on Financial Controller position sits at the heart of a fast‑growing, venture‑backed medical technology company. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own the finance function, supporting growth, fundraising and governance as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Liaise with external advisors on statutory accounts and corporation tax.
• Lead quarterly budget and forecast updates in partnership with the CEO and CTO.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and ongoing financial processes.
• Assist the CTO with R&D grant applications.
• Report and present financial information at board meetings.
• Support fundraising activities, handling shareholder queries and reviewing agreements.
• Oversee funds raised in financing rounds and maintain investor communications.
• Handle company secretarial duties, including filing statutory returns.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with a strong technical accounting background.
• Experience in a growth‑stage, venture‑backed or similarly fast‑paced environment.
• Highly organised with the ability to juggle competing priorities in a lean team.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, confident presenting to a board.
