Fresh Food Trainer – Nationwide (Cork)

About the role

The Fresh Food Trainer will travel across our Cork‑based stores, delivering hands‑on training to deli, bakery, hot‑food, café and fresh‑food teams. You will coach managers and staff, raise food‑quality standards and support new store openings and product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical training in all fresh‑food departments, ensuring consistent presentation and customer service.
• Coach Fresh Food Managers, Supervisors and team members to improve performance, sales, waste and profitability.
• Conduct fresh‑food audits, identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food‑safety legislation and internal procedures.
• Develop and deliver tailored training plans for each store.
• Support new store openings, refits and fresh‑food launches.
• Maintain accurate training records and report progress to senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience in fresh‑food retail, deli, bakery, convenience or food‑service environments.
• Strong knowledge of deli, bakery, hot‑food and fresh‑food operations.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop retail teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Commercially aware with a track record of improving sales, margins and reducing waste.
• Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel across Cork and surrounding areas.
