General Operative – Production

About the role

Ornua is seeking a General Operative to join its production team in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork. You will be responsible for accurately filling a range of dairy products into tubs or foil, ensuring high‑quality standards and smooth machine operation.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the product range and its behaviour during the filling process.
• Set up machine run parameters using consul commands and screen options according to manufacturing orders.
• Configure and operate ink‑jet printers, entering product data and ensuring correct head positioning.
• Perform X‑Ray tests and verify metal detection systems are functioning.
• Change internal machine components when required for product changes.
• Monitor production, clear blockages or spills, and maintain a clean work environment.
• Prepare machines for cleaning, execute hand‑wash bath cleaning, and follow CIP procedures.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of the product range and its interaction with filling equipment.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and set machine parameters accurately.
• Proactive troubleshooting mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Required skills

• Machine set‑up and operation using consul commands.
• Ink‑jet printer configuration and data entry.
• Metal detection system operation and X‑Ray testing.
• CIP (Clean‑In‑Place) cleaning procedures.
