General Operative – Production

About the role

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a General Operative to support the production of printed leaflets and booklets at its Westport facility. The role involves working on shift patterns, adhering to health and safety standards, and meeting daily production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Operate production equipment and assist with the printing of leaflets and booklets.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following health and safety procedures and reporting incidents.
• Achieve daily and weekly production targets while ensuring products meet quality standards.
• Accurately record production data in systems such as SFDC and VWT.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and follow ISO 9001 and PS 9000 quality guidelines.
• Assist with routine cleaning and basic maintenance of machinery.

Required profile

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent education.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is desirable.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Willingness to work flexible shift patterns.
• Ability to inspect leaflets and booklets to a high quality standard.

Required skills

• Use of SFDC (Salesforce) for production reporting.
• Operation of VWT (production tracking system).
• Basic mechanical aptitude (advantageous).
