Health Club Supervisor

About the role

The Heritage, a luxury hotel and award‑winning spa in the unspoilt Laois countryside, is seeking an experienced Health Club Supervisor to lead the day‑to‑day operations of its health club facilities. You will ensure a seamless guest experience across the leisure pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam rooms, walking track and cinema, while supporting the Health Club Manager in achieving financial and service targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the Health Club while on duty, including service quality, appearance and compliance with company standards.
• Monitor fitness class schedules, gym and pool attendance, and record daily usage.
• Oversee cleanliness and sanitation of fitness and pool areas.
• Assist the Health Club Manager in creating, updating and implementing SOPs.
• Handle guest complaints, investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs, opening and closing procedures, and daily briefings with staff.
• Maintain security of cash, stock and equipment, and oversee the maintenance programme for all mechanical, electrical and fitness equipment.
• Sign‑off training lists, deliver refresher training, and organise monthly health‑and‑safety sessions.
• Design and deliver tailored training programmes for members, providing advice on exercise, injury prevention and fitness goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising a health club, gym or similar leisure facility.
• Flexibility to work early, late, weekend and bank‑holiday shifts on a full‑time basis.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to resolve guest issues promptly.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
