Health & Safety Advisor – Western & North‑Western Region

About the role

Breedon Group plc is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support its operations across the Western and North‑Western region of Ireland. You will work closely with operational teams to ensure that all personnel work safely and in compliance with legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a “Home Safe and Well” culture and support a one‑team approach.
• Ensure compliance with current safety legislation, HSA guidance and approved codes of practice.
• Provide staff with relevant safety information, instruction and training.
• Develop site‑specific safety statements, construction stage safety & health plans, traffic management plans and risk assessments.
• Review method statements and maintain necessary documentation for safe operations.
• Facilitate regular safety meetings, consultations and representation from staff or contractors.
• Monitor internal and external reporting requirements and maintain records in the online management system.
• Conduct timely accident/incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Obtain and review safety documentation from clients, suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring project‑specific RAMS are in place.

Required profile

• Experience in health and safety within construction or related industrial environments.
• Knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and HSA codes of practice.
• Ability to develop and maintain safety documentation and conduct risk assessments.
• Strong communication skills for training, consultation and reporting.
