Health & Safety Lead – Manufacturing Construction Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Lead to drive the safety strategy for a high‑profile greenfield manufacturing construction project in Cork. You will oversee health and safety from mobilisation through construction, commissioning and hand‑over, ensuring a safe environment for all personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Health & Safety strategy across all project phases.
• Ensure compliance with Irish legislation and company H&S standards.
• Manage contractor safety performance and promote safe working practices on site.
• Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Deliver site inductions, safety training and behavioural safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with project, engineering and operations teams to guarantee safe delivery and seamless transition to operations.
• Foster a proactive safety culture where every team member takes ownership.

Required profile

• 10+ years of Health & Safety experience in construction, engineering or manufacturing.
• Proven track record leading H&S on large‑scale capital projects (€50 million+).
• Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
• Ability to influence contractors, project teams and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification (degree, diploma or equivalent).
