Hospitality Manager – Student Accommodation & Events

About the role

Maynooth University is seeking a senior Hospitality Manager to lead the operation of its commercial estate, which includes student accommodation, conference facilities and summer‑season programmes. The role combines year‑round property management with strategic development of event and accommodation services to generate commercial income for the university.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee 365‑day property operations, including facilities, maintenance and the transition between commercial short‑stays and student term‑time residencies.
• Manage the student accommodation portfolio (approximately 1,262 beds) and the Village Apartments of St. Patricks College Maynooth (240 beds).
• Develop and integrate MU Events, ensuring synergy between accommodation and event services.
• Prepare routine financial and operational reports for university management and the Higher Education Authority.
• Lead the Residence Office and MU Events teams, fostering value for money and high‑quality customer service.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in hospitality, accommodation or facilities management, preferably within a higher‑education environment.
• Strong strategic foresight, financial acumen and ability to manage large‑scale operations.
• Excellent leadership and people‑management skills, with experience supervising multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior university managers and external partners.
