Host – Guest Reception & Seating at Luxury Resort

About the role

Join the Carriage House and Courtyard Bar team at Carton House, a five‑star Fairmont resort in Ireland. As a Host you will be the first point of contact for guests, creating a warm welcome and ensuring smooth restaurant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and create a positive first impression.
• Manage restaurant reservations, maintain accurate records in the reservation system, and confirm special requests.
• Coordinate seating to optimise flow while upholding service standards.
• Profile guests, noting occasions, dietary needs, VIP status and preferences.
• Handle guest enquiries, provide wait‑time updates and resolve concerns promptly.
• Liaise with restaurant management and service teams to deliver seamless experiences.
• Monitor table availability, waiting lists and communicate handovers to colleagues.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a host, hostess, receptionist or guest‑facing role in hospitality.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with a genuine passion for hospitality.
• Professional appearance, confident manner and ability to stay calm in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Experience with reservation platforms such as SevenRooms, OpenTable or ResDiary.
