Investment Performance Data Specialist

About the role

Mercer's Investment Solutions business, part of the Operations Unit, manages data strategy and vision for its investment solutions, coordinating data owners and stakeholders such as Portfolio Management, Operations, Compliance and Technology, and third-party vendors. The Data Solutions Team aims to make data trustworthy, timely, accurate and complete. Reporting to the Global Investment Data and Performance Solutions Leader, this role sits within the Performance Team and suits someone with a background in funds or asset management.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Performance Team to understand their capabilities and requirements, working with platform providers and technology teams to deliver tailored solutions.
• Work with business teams to understand performance workflows and build data support models that drive growth locally and globally.
• Support the roadmap for performance calculation and analysis, prioritising activities and defining metrics and dashboards to track progress.
• Promote a data-driven culture and maintain relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
• Identify opportunities for data and workflow innovation, including the use of new tools and technologies such as AI.

Required profile

• 8-10 years of experience in data-focused roles involving business and technology teams.
• Familiarity with data ecosystems in asset and/or wealth management, especially performance processes and inputs such as accounting, pricing and benchmarks.
• Knowledge of vendors and technologies related to performance and data activities.
• Certifications such as CFA and CAIA are a plus.

Required skills

• Strong technical expertise in data wrangling, creation, governance, integration and interrogation, including hands-on definition of data structures, quality controls and scalable datasets.
• Experience with cloud, automation, AI/ML and emerging technologies.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems through data and technology.
