About the role

The School of Engineering at the University of Galway seeks a full‑time, permanent Lecturer in Civil Engineering. The successful candidate will strengthen the university’s international reputation in digital construction, BIM, geomatics, and sustainable infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Civil Engineering, Construction Innovation, and Engineering Management.
• Supervise student projects and theses.
• Develop and lead a high‑impact research programme in digital and industrialised construction methods.
• Contribute to programme administration and curriculum development.
• Collaborate with internal and external research institutes.

Required profile

• Established expertise in building information modelling, digital twins, or modern methods of construction.
• Strong publication record and ability to attract research funding.
• Experience in teaching and supervising engineering students.
• Commitment to sustainability and climate‑resilient infrastructure.
