Legal Counsel – Innovative Medicine Supply Chain

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Global Legal Organization supporting the Innovative Medicine (IM) Supply Chain. The role focuses on biotherapeutics supply‑chain contracts, covering the full lifecycle from clinical development through commercial launch. The position is based in one of several European locations (Basel, Zug, Cork, or High Wycombe) and works closely with procurement, external manufacturers, and product development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate supply‑chain agreements with external manufacturers producing drug substance and drug product for commercial programs.
• Provide legal advice on high‑risk, high‑complexity contracts spanning clinical to commercial supply.
• Support operational decisions across procurement, external manufacturing, discovery, product development, supply, and collaboration partners.
• Manage contractual commitments related to forecasts, capital, reservation fees, and other supply‑chain obligations.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in biopharma or healthcare supply‑chain contracts.
• Proven ability to handle complex, high‑risk agreements and negotiate effectively.
• Strong understanding of the end‑to‑end biotherapeutics supply chain, from clinical trials to commercial distribution.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with cross‑functional stakeholders.
