Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will be based full‑time in the Dublin Tunnel Control Building, reporting to the M&E Technical Manager. The role covers the upkeep of all mechanical and electrical systems within the tunnel, with occasional civil‑engineering tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Record all activities in the Maintenance Management System and ensure work orders are completed efficiently.
• Attend scheduled tunnel closures and provide on‑call support as part of a roster.
• Liaise with contractors and support CAPEX upgrade projects.
• Lead and supervise departmental projects aimed at improving reliability and availability.
• Conduct civil, structural and environmental inspections as required.
• Ensure all work complies with ISO 55001, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Maintenance Technician.
• Fully qualified electrician with a time‑served electrical qualification.
• Leaving Certificate preferred.
• Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Required skills

• Electrical and mechanical systems maintenance.
• Medium‑Voltage (MV), Low‑Voltage (LV), LSS and HVAC knowledge.
• Use of Maintenance Management Systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 55001, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
