Mechanical Design Engineer, Data Centre Engineering

About the role

Amazon Web Services is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support design engineering activities and perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations for new‑build data centre projects across the EMEA region. You will join a global engineering team responsible for designing resilient, cost‑effective mechanical service systems that ensure world‑class uptime for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions within the group and with internal/external teams supporting data centres.
• Perform, interpret, and report on CFD studies to validate mechanical designs.
• Design mechanical systems that meet critical equipment needs and constructability requirements for data centre environments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate user requirements into robust mechanical solutions.
• Justify and communicate design decisions to senior management and drive continuous improvements.

Required profile

• Strong background in mechanical system design for large‑scale facilities.
• Understanding of data centre equipment, cooling, and power infrastructure.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, innovative environment and drive change.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills
