Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing M&E engineering team, delivering mechanical building services across data centres, healthcare, commercial and high‑tech projects. The role offers a pioneering 35‑hour, four‑day week and a hybrid working model, making it an attractive opportunity for engineers seeking work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Support mechanical design tasks under senior supervision, producing and updating Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks models.
• Attend and conduct site visits with senior engineers to verify design intent.
• Develop design files, project documentation and maintain quality‑assurance standards.
• Manage routine technical tasks and coordinate with structural, architectural and electrical disciplines.
• Participate in internal training, CPD sessions and design team meetings.
• Assist in progress toward professional chartership and accreditation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical building services design.
• Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing and general mechanical systems.
• Understanding of coordination with structural, architectural and electrical models.
