About the role
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Cork. You will be responsible for delivering high‑profile semiconductor, cleanroom and advanced manufacturing projects, focusing on mechanical, HVAC and process utility solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop mechanical design concepts for semiconductor, cleanroom and high‑tech manufacturing facilities.
- Design and coordinate HVAC systems, including cleanroom ventilation, pressurisation, filtration and environmental control.
- Create mechanical layouts, equipment arrangements and utility distribution drawings.
- Design process utility networks such as compressed air, chilled water, heating water, process gases and vacuum systems.
- Produce engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports and design documentation.
- Collaborate with process, architectural, structural, electrical and automation teams to ensure coordinated designs.
- Participate in design reviews, client meetings and project workshops.
- Support construction, commissioning and project close‑out activities.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical building services or industrial facility design.
- Strong background in HVAC system design and cleanroom environments.
- Familiarity with semiconductor, pharmaceutical or life‑science projects.
- Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Chartered Engineer status or progression towards chartership.
- Valid EU/Irish work permit.
