Mechanical Engineer – Building Services (Dublin)

About the role

AECOM is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join its Dublin office. You will work on a varied portfolio of building‑services projects across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, education, residential, industrial and public infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical building‑services systems, including HVAC, domestic water, drainage, public health and low‑carbon energy solutions.
• Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, technical reports and design documentation.
• Develop designs using industry‑standard software and BIM platforms.
• Support projects from concept and feasibility through detailed design, construction and handover.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, architectural and specialist disciplines.
• Attend client, design‑team and site meetings as required.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, sustainability targets and best practices.
• Identify technical challenges and propose efficient engineering solutions.
• Mentor graduate and junior engineers.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in building‑services consultancy or similar environment.
• Commercial awareness and commitment to sustainable, innovative engineering solutions.
