Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Multi‑Skilled

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Estates Department at Stobhill Hospital is seeking a motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician. You will support a wide range of building services across the Stobhill campus and other NHS facilities in the North East GGC area, ensuring safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair building services including HVAC, electrical systems, water and heating distribution, fire alarms and nurse‑call systems.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, record work and ensure compliance with statutory and manufacturer standards.
• Operate and interpret Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor environmental conditions and detect early faults.
• Assist other trades and respond to on‑call duties as required.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Scottish Health Technical Memoranda, electrical regulations and building standards.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence.
• Up‑to‑date training in relevant health & safety areas (asbestos, confined spaces, working at height, first aid).
• Ability to work independently, think objectively and solve problems effectively.
• Positive, professional attitude and willingness to work across multiple sites.
