Mechanical Technician – Energy Center

About the role

The Energy Center is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the day shift team. You will be trained on predictive maintenance, CMMS (Pemac) and reliability techniques across a range of plant equipment including fuel‑oil systems, industrial gas distribution, turbines, boilers, compressors and diesel generators.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities with shift technicians and act as the point of contact for service providers.
• Troubleshoot and conduct high‑level investigations of utility plant equipment faults, performing root‑cause analysis.
• Execute planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance tasks and ensure PMs are completed on schedule.
• Develop and maintain PMs, job plans and SOPs for plant equipment within the CMMS.
• Liaise with the site planner to identify spare‑part requirements and support capital improvement projects.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and decision‑making during plant outages, isolations and emergency situations.
• Support the Site Engineer and HV Engineer with root‑cause analysis and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of fuel‑oil storage and distribution systems.
• Experience with industrial gas installations and distribution.
• Familiarity with gas and steam turbines, diesel generators, boilers, compressors and pumps.
• Proficiency in using CMMS (Pemac) for maintenance planning and record‑keeping.
• Ability to lead decisions on plant operation, offline procedures and emergency response.
• Willingness to back‑fill shift work and support emergency situations outside normal hours.
