Night Porter

About the role

The Night Porter ensures that guest needs are met efficiently during the overnight hours while maintaining security, fire safety, and cleanliness throughout the property. This role supports the front‑of‑house team, handles late‑night check‑ins and check‑outs, and completes the night audit.

Key responsibilities

• Arrive on time in a clean, full uniform with name badge and professional appearance.
• Receive handover from daily porters, receptionists and the manager on duty.
• Perform regular security and fire checks (e.g., at 12 am, 2 am, 4 am, 6 am) and log any irregularities.
• Check‑in and check‑out guests, manage luggage handling, and respond promptly to guest enquiries.
• Process lounge and room‑service orders after 11 pm, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and deliver early breakfast cards.
• Cover bar service after staff departure, ensuring accurate cash and stock procedures.
• Execute night‑time cleaning tasks, including public areas, premier lounge, reception desk, meeting rooms, and bathrooms.
• Set up meeting rooms to standard, verify equipment functionality, and monitor fax machine for incoming messages.
• Complete a comprehensive night‑shift report and hand over any incidents to the duty manager and day staff.
