Oxygen Plant Technician

About the role

The Oxygen Plant Technician ensures safe and efficient operation of Newmont's oxygen process plant at the Lihir gold mine. You will support daily production, maintain plant reliability, and uphold strict HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor oxygen plant equipment according to daily plans and supervisor direction.
• Perform routine inspections, system checks, and identify defects.
• Report hazards, defects, and maintenance needs through the designated reporting system.
• Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and Fitness for Work requirements.
• Participate in shift handovers, toolbox talks, and skills training sessions.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and help minimise waste.
• Maintain clear communication with team members and supervisors.
