Part-time Lecturer in Information Technology (0.2 FTE)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Lecturer in Information Technology (0.2 FTE, term‑time) to join Shannon College of Hotel Management, University of Galway. The role involves delivering IT teaching and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within a hospitality and business context.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials and practical sessions in Information Technology for undergraduate hotel management and postgraduate business programmes.
• Design and mark examinations, assignments and projects.
• Provide academic mentoring and support to students.
• Contribute to scholarship and research activities in the IT discipline.
• Assist with administrative duties and the development of the IT curriculum.

Required profile

• PhD or professional qualification in Information Technology or a closely related field, or demonstrable significant contribution to the area.
• Relevant teaching or industry experience in IT, preferably within business or hospitality settings.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively, manage academic administration and adapt teaching methods.
