Part‑Time Food & Beverage Assistant – Hotel Bar & Restaurant

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Part‑Time Food & Beverage Assistant to join the bar and restaurant team at the Metropole Hotel in Cork. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, supporting guests and ensuring smooth service across the restaurant, bar, meeting rooms and banqueting areas.

Key responsibilities

• Arrive on time in the correct uniform and maintain a clean, tidy work area.
• Set tables, control linen stocks and prepare mise‑en‑place for each shift.
• Take orders, process billing and complete end‑of‑shift cash‑up.
• Serve food and beverages to guests, adhering to Trigon Hotel Group standards.
• Keep all service areas clean and comply with hygiene and safety regulations.
• Handle guest enquiries, communicate facilities and resolve complaints professionally.
• Participate in fire drills, safety procedures and monthly staff meetings.
• Undertake any additional duties as directed by management.

Required profile

• Previous hospitality or food‑service experience is welcomed.
• Warm, positive personality with a genuine interest in guest care.
• Team player who can also work independently and take initiative.
• Commitment to personal hygiene, grooming and health‑and‑safety standards.

Required skills

• Cash handling and basic point‑of‑sale operation.
