Pre-Construction Project Planner

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Pre‑Construction Project Planner to support the planning and delivery of construction projects from tender through to project commencement and beyond. The role involves developing, analysing, and managing detailed programme schedules using industry‑standard planning software.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed tender and pre‑construction programmes using Asta PowerProject.
• Analyse drawings, specifications and scope documents to build logical project sequences.
• Collaborate with design, procurement, production, logistics and project teams to form programmes.
• Control documentation of all technical and commercial bid documents during the tender phase.
• Support project managers during project execution.
• Work closely with estimators, quantity surveyors and the pre‑construction design team during bid stages.
• Create baseline programmes, perform critical‑path analysis and define key milestones.
• Identify risks, constraints and opportunities within project plans.
• Carry out programme sensitivity and “what‑if” scenario analysis.
• Review subcontractor and supplier programmes for alignment.
• Participate in tender meetings, internal reviews and client discussions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in pre‑construction planning and project scheduling.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret drawings, specifications and scope documents.
• Excellent collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to manage documentation and support project managers throughout execution.
