Procurement Manager

About the role

We are seeking a strategic Procurement Manager to lead and expand our purchasing function within a leading construction organisation in Galway. The role will focus on delivering cost efficiencies, strengthening supplier relationships and supporting high‑profile projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic purchasing initiatives such as volume discount agreements, supplier rebate structures and strategic payment agreements.
• Lead the creation and continuous improvement of a robust Master Price List.
• Manage supply categories including energy, fuel, stationery and operational overheads.
• Drive international sourcing and procurement initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Purchasing team.
• Deliver measurable cost‑saving initiatives aligned with business objectives.
• Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships while ensuring competitive market engagement.
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, efficiencies and supplier performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic procurement or purchasing management.
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering cost‑saving initiatives.
• Experience negotiating high‑value contracts and managing supplier relationships.
• Exposure to international sourcing/procurement activities.
• Construction industry experience (highly desirable).
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
