Project Engineer – Pharmaceutical Projects

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Engineering Project Delivery Team at the Little Island, Cork site. The role is contract‑based (12 months) and focuses on supporting the scoping, commissioning, qualification, validation and start‑up of pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects to deliver on time, within budget and according to safety and quality standards.
• Scope new projects, secure capital approval and manage cost estimation, forecasting and tracking.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, progress reports and risk registers.
• Coordinate commissioning, qualification and validation activities across multiple disciplines and with external suppliers.
• Manage project documentation, interfaces, and cross‑functional team meetings.
• Conduct constructability, maintainability and operability studies.
• Investigate and resolve equipment deviations and provide training on process and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, EHS and Johnson & Johnson change‑management procedures.

Required profile

• Relevant third‑level qualification in Chemistry, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a pharmaceutical or medical‑device environment.
• Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects and work safely in regulated settings.
