Public Area Assistant – Full‑Time Hotel Role

About the role

The Maritime Hotel in Bantry is looking for a full‑time Public Area Assistant to keep the hotel’s public spaces spotless and welcoming. No previous experience is required – you will receive full training and support through a buddy system.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a walk‑through of all public areas at the start of each shift to ensure cleanliness and order.
• Remove litter and debris from floors, furniture and high‑traffic zones promptly.
• Inspect and maintain public toilets, keeping floors dry and surfaces clean.
• Clean and prepare furniture, ledges, counters and touchpoints.
• Operate floor‑scrubbing machines on tiled surfaces and vacuum carpeted areas.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the shift and respond quickly to emerging cleaning needs.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards or areas needing extra attention to the supervisor.
• Follow health, safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
