Qualified Accountant – Generalist Role in Cork

About the role

This is a full‑time, generalist accountant position within a reputable Cork‑based accountancy firm. The role offers exposure to a wide range of clients and the chance to develop expertise across financial statements, tax compliance and audit support.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Complete VAT, Corporation Tax and Income Tax returns.
• Assist with statutory audits and provide audit support.
• Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Liaise with clients on day‑to‑day queries and deliver proactive advice.
• Ensure compliance with Irish accounting and tax regulations.
• Support and train junior staff as required.
• Undertake ad‑hoc tasks assigned by partners or senior team members.

Required profile

• ACCA, ACA or CPA qualified (or part‑qualified).
• Minimum 2 years experience in an Irish accountancy practice.
• Strong grounding in accounts preparation, tax compliance and some audit exposure.
• Good understanding of Irish tax legislation and accounting principles.
• Detail‑oriented with solid problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills and a client‑focused mindset.
