Quality Assurance Supervisor – Structural Steel

About the role

The Structural Steel Quality Assurance Supervisor will ensure that all steel installation works across Ireland meet project specifications, approved drawings, applicable standards, client quality requirements and KH Engineering’s Quality Management System. The role is site‑based and covers the full project lifecycle from mobilisation to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out pre‑start inspections, verify foundations, bolts, levels and setting‑out before erection.
• Confirm availability of approved drawings, revisions and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) on site.
• Manage and implement project‑specific ITPs, conduct hold‑point and witness‑point inspections.
• Complete and maintain accurate quality inspection records and documentation.
• Monitor structural steel installation quality, including alignment, plumbness, bolt tightening, torque inspections, installation sequence and tolerances.
• Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants and third‑party inspectors.
• Ensure traceability and final handover documentation meet required standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in structural steel quality assurance or construction quality control.
• Familiarity with project specifications, approved drawings and relevant industry standards.
• Ability to manage Inspection & Test Plans and conduct on‑site inspections.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain comprehensive quality records.
