Registrar Emergency Medicine – Immediate Start

About the role

This position is for a Registrar in Emergency Medicine who can start immediately. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team in an Irish hospital setting, providing acute medical care to a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to deliver emergency medical care.
• Diagnose, treat and monitor patients, ensuring safety and well‑being.
• Assess patients on admission and discharge, producing detailed case notes.
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Initiate and adjust treatment plans as required.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare professionals.
• Engage in clinical audit, risk management and proactive quality improvement.
• Comply with European Working Time Directive, Irish legislation and medical council guidelines.
• Participate in induction training and ongoing professional development.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by the supervising consultant.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor eligible for NCHD registration in Ireland.
• Willingness to work under the supervision of a consultant or clinical director.
• Commitment to adhere to statutory, regulatory and hospital policies.
• Ability to engage in regular performance and research reviews.
