Safety Health Environmental and Quality Advisor

About the role

Monami Construction is seeking a proactive Safety Health Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor to join its Limerick team. The role is pivotal in ensuring that all construction projects meet the highest standards of safety, health, environment and quality throughout delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support project management teams in implementing health, safety, quality and environmental systems on site.
• Prepare and maintain SHEQ documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, health & safety plans, environmental management plans and quality plans.
• Review subcontractor method statements and risk assessments to ensure compliance with legislation and company procedures.
• Carry out regular site inspections and audits, promptly addressing and closing non‑conformances.
• Monitor and report SHEQ performance across projects to senior management.
• Attend SHEQ meetings and contribute to action plans and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate SHEQ records, statistics and reports as required.
• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors and internal departments to promote best practice.
• Support the ongoing development of a positive safety culture throughout the business.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a SHEQ, Health & Safety or Environmental role within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation and construction site compliance requirements.
• Experience preparing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and subcontractors.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH, Diploma or equivalent) desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with SHEQ reporting systems.
