Senior Design Engineer – Transportation

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Senior Design Engineer to join Egis’s transportation team in Ireland. The role will focus on delivering road and active‑travel infrastructure projects of varying scale and complexity, working closely with project managers and directors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of roads, cycleways and pedestrian infrastructure from concept through detailed design.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring integration of civil, structural and services engineering.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings and specifications in line with Irish and EU standards.
• Support project delivery by reviewing contractor submissions and providing technical guidance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing within the team.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in civil engineering design, preferably in transportation.
• Proven ability to manage design workstreams with a high degree of autonomy.
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with project managers and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Willingness to develop leadership capabilities and support junior staff.
