Senior Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Irish civil engineering contractor, delivering infrastructure projects across energy, transport and residential sectors. The role involves managing projects from planning through to completion, ensuring coordination, safety, quality and programme targets are achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate internal teams (planning, design, construction, commercial, HSQE) and external stakeholders such as local authorities and utilities.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, programmes and traffic management plans.
• Support budgeting, post‑project analysis and road‑opening licence administration.
• Oversee site activities, supervise labour and subcontractors, and organise resources to meet deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, identify and report risks, and maintain accurate site records.
• Manage procurement, review drawings and specifications, and resolve technical issues with stakeholders.
• Step in to support site/project management duties, promote safe working practices and monitor site conditions.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural steel, roads or water‑supply projects.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Full clean Irish/EU driving licence and eligibility to work in Ireland.
