Senior Project Manager HV Grid

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead high‑voltage (HV) grid projects for a semi‑state organisation in Ireland. The role sits within the Chief Infrastructure Office and covers the full project lifecycle from concept through to detailed design and construction hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Lead HV station and circuit projects, including upgrades and refurbishments of the transmission network.
• Manage all phases – conceptual, feasibility, statutory planning, consent, detailed design and construction.
• Coordinate on‑site activities and office‑based planning, ensuring safety‑first leadership.
• Oversee budgets, risk registers and compliance with H&S and quality standards.
• Collaborate with senior leaders, vendors and multidisciplinary teams to meet KPIs.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified engineer with proven experience delivering large‑scale power or infrastructure projects.
• Strong project leadership, stakeholder communication and commercial awareness.
• Ability to manage complex programmes and vendor relationships.
• Professional membership desirable and understanding of sustainability and carbon impact requirements.
