Setting-Out Engineer – Construction Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Setting-Out Engineer to join a leading main contractor in Dublin. The role involves precise layout of groundworks and structural elements using advanced surveying equipment, supporting a variety of construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform setting‑out for groundworks and structural works using GPS, total station and automatic levels.
• Coordinate site drawings and ensure alignment with the design team.
• Liaise daily with the project team, design team and subcontractors.
• Monitor and record materials, plant and logistics on site.
• Implement QA procedures, conduct concrete pre/post‑pour checks and manage RFIs.
• Maintain accurate records, reporting and documentation.
• Support safe working practices and assist with health & safety monitoring.

Required profile

• Relevant third‑level degree (e.g., Civil Engineering, Surveying).
• 3‑5 years’ experience in a similar setting‑out role.
• Previous experience with a main contractor on residential, commercial, pharma, data‑centre or hi‑tech projects.
• Proven ability to work with GPS, robotic total stations and levelling equipment.
• Strong IT proficiency, including AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
