Setting Out Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Setting‑Out Engineer to join a leading main contractor in Dublin. The role involves precise layout of groundworks and structural elements using advanced surveying equipment, ensuring projects are built to design specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Set out groundworks and structural works using GPS, total stations and automatic levels.
• Coordinate site drawings and maintain daily liaison with project, design teams and subcontractors.
• Monitor and record materials, plant, logistics and implement QA procedures, including concrete pre/post‑pour checks.
• Manage RFIs, resolve technical issues and maintain accurate records and reports.
• Support safe working practices on site.

Required profile

• Relevant third‑level degree.
• 3‑5 years’ experience in a similar setting‑out role, preferably with a main contractor.
• Experience on construction/civil engineering projects such as residential, RC frame, retail/commercial, pharma, data centre or hi‑tech.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GPS, robotic total station and levelling equipment.
• Strong IT skills, including AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and Microsoft Office.
