Site Manager / Finishing Foreperson

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager/Finishing Foreperson to lead the construction of the new Garda Divisional Headquarters in Macroom, Co. Cork. This is a high‑visibility, multi‑million‑euro project for a tier‑one main contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day site operations, including logistics, welfare facilities, and subcontractor areas.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety plans, inductions, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Implement and monitor Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) using BIM and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
• Manage short‑term sub‑contractor programmes and generate accurate daily diaries.
• Produce and control non‑conforming reports (NCRs) and maintain Project Management Plan (PMP) records.
• Verify visitor inductions, CSCS cards, and English proficiency for site entry.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing construction sites on large public‑sector projects.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams and enforce safe working methods.
• Excellent organisational skills for documentation, reporting, and programme control.

Required skills

• BIM (Building Information Modelling) utilisation for QA/QC.
• Preparation and implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
• Health & Safety Management, including risk assessments and method statements.
• Project Management Plan (PMP) administration.
• Generation of daily site diaries and NCR handling.
