Site Manager – School Construction Project (Kildare)

About the role

The Site Manager will lead the delivery of a major school construction project in Kildare, overseeing a two‑storey building, specialist teaching facilities, sports hall and external play areas. This permanent position lasts for the minimum two‑year construction phase and requires day‑to‑day site supervision to ensure safety, schedule adherence and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site logistics, welfare facilities, subcontractor zones, loading areas and roadways.
• Ensure full compliance with the Health & Safety Plan, RAMS, method statements and risk assessments.
• Supervise workforce activities, conduct bi‑weekly safety inspections and report accidents, incidents and near‑misses.
• Maintain quality assurance records, ITPs and BIM documentation, generate daily diaries and close NCRs.
• Review and approve RAMS, method statements and ensure all personnel hold required certifications (CSCS, competency, English proficiency).
• Liaise with building control, statutory bodies, designers, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Control commercial aspects: track drawings, specifications, subcontractor scopes, material deliveries and cost control documents.

Required profile

• 5–10+ years’ experience with a main contractor on £10m+ projects in Ireland or the UK.
• Proven ability to lead large‑scale education or institutional construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, quality management and BIM processes.

Required skills

• BIM (Building Information Modelling) proficiency.
• Experience with ITP (Inspection Test Plans) and RAMS documentation.
• CSCS certification or equivalent competency verification.
