Supervisor, Registered Mine Electrician

About the role

The Supervisor, Registered Mine Electrician leads electrical safety, compliance, training and authorisation across Newmont's Lihir operation. Reporting to the Registered Mine Manager, you will ensure that all personnel working on or near electrical equipment meet site and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and integrity of the site electrical system throughout the Lihir mine.
• Ensure all electrical works comply with Newmont Electrical Safety Management Plan, High Voltage Safety Management Plan and relevant Australian/New Zealand standards.
• Provide technical authority, guidance and assurance for all site electrical activities.
• Oversee electrical safety training, authorisation processes and competency assessments.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with site electrical standards and statutory obligations.

Required profile

• Qualified Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in electrical safety management.
• Proven background in mine or heavy‑industry electrical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor personnel on electrical safety practices.
• Strong understanding of high‑voltage safety and regulatory requirements.
