Systems Accountant

About the role

This newly created Systems Accountant position sits within a fast‑growing Irish‑owned manufacturing group. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the Finance Manager, the role blends systems and project work with core financial reporting, providing full visibility across finance, operations, IT, HR and engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary finance contact for major digital and systems projects.
• Develop and improve reporting, dashboards and data visibility.
• Train end‑users and provide support to finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
• Support month‑end close, management accounts and balance‑sheet controls.
• Lead finance aspects of system and process improvement initiatives.
• Partner with IT and ERP specialists to maintain, enhance and optimise the ERP system.
• Drive automation across product costing, rebates, pricing and expense reporting.
• Support consolidation of entities within tight close timetables.
• Enhance use of reporting and analytics tools.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA).
• 3‑5+ years post‑qualification experience, preferably in a Top‑4 firm or industry role.
• Strong grounding in core accounting and month‑end processes.
• Genuine interest in systems, process improvement and understanding the “why”.
• Eligible to live and work in the EU.
• Curious, open‑minded and comfortable working with high autonomy.
