About the role
As a Team Manager for the Food department at M&S, you will lead a store team on the shop floor, setting the pace and raising standards to deliver exceptional service and strong commercial performance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a multi‑skilled team, ensuring a five‑star customer experience.
- Maintain high standards of visual presentation, safety, product availability and operational excellence.
- Drive commercial results using insight, pace and effective leadership.
- Coach, develop and performance‑manage staff with clarity and empathy.
- Handle constructive and difficult conversations while fostering an inclusive culture.
- Embrace digital tools and new ways of working to improve efficiency.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading teams in a fast‑paced retail or customer‑focused environment.
- Strong commercial awareness and confidence using data to drive results.
- Ability to coach, develop and manage performance with empathy.
- Resilient, adaptable mindset with energy to lead through change.
- Digital confidence and willingness to adopt new technologies.
- Role model for great service, inclusion and company behaviours.
