Thermal Engineer – Project Engineering

About the role

Vertiv is seeking a Thermal Engineer to join its Letterkenny facility, where modular data centre and telecom buildings are designed, built and delivered. You will create customized heating, cooling and ventilation solutions for high‑performance data centre and telecom environments.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the design team to produce construction documentation (CD) sets.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation and support module assembly in the factory.
• Provide engineering supervision and support to service teams, subcontractors, and during site construction and commissioning.
• Review design content for constructability and give feedback to the multidisciplinary team.
• Manage construction administration tasks such as as‑built documentation, installation manuals, FAT procedures, and punch‑list items.
• Specify bill of materials, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure smooth project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (process & energy, thermotechnics, modelling, simulations).
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Proficient use of Windows and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong English proficiency (independent user, B2 level).
• Analytical, meticulous, and able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Mechanical design of heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and fire‑suppression systems.
• AutoCAD (mandatory) and Revit (preferred) modelling.
• Windows operating system.
• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
