Underwriting Assistant

About the role

Ecclesiastical Insurance Ireland is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join its Dublin office. The role supports brokers and customers, helping to maintain high retention while contributing to the underwriting strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite existing business, including fast‑track renewals, debit transactions and mid‑term adjustments within authority.
• Resolve general customer queries within underwriting authority.
• Administer schemes by reviewing and managing new and existing business quotations, queries, adjustments and processing bordereaux.
• Provide underwriting administration support such as data entry, MTA processing and work allocation.
• Plan, prioritise and manage own workload to meet agreed objectives and service level agreements.

Required profile

• APA (Commercial General Insurance) minimum preferred or commitment to achieve APA and CIP within agreed timescale.
• Experience in the insurance sector is desirable.
• Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
• Appropriate IT skills including data processing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience in schemes administration.
• Minimum Competency Qualification.
